The Latest Club News

Hello Fellow Military Collectors,
One of our Fellow Military Collectors, Joe Weingord, has passed away. Joe enjoyed restoring WW II military Jeeps and Trucks. Joe left behind a huge garage/workshop full of M-151 Jeep and MB / GPW World War II Jeep parts and accessories. This part of Joe's estate needs to be liquidated.
Therefore, a huge Garage Sale will be held at 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday and Saturday May 11th and 12th, 2018. The Address for the Garage Sale is 895 Oakford Road, Sarasota, Florida 34240. If anyone is interested in purchasing the entire lot, please contact Mr. Curtis Leonard at 941-780-4071.

All this and much more.

Sad news. We lost one of our own on Monday February 6, 2017. Life Member and mentor to all, Major Cecil Tanner (US Army, ret.), passed away. He was 97 years old and was an avid lover of all kinds of Military Vehicles but especially Jeeps. He helped many club members get their Jeeps back on the road.

Arrangments are:

Viewing Sunday evening, Feb. 12, 5:00-7:00pm and Memorial Service, Monday Feb. 13, 11:00am.

Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home
7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32205
(the corner of Normandy and Memorial Park)

Internment will follow on Monday, Feb. 13, 2017 at 2:00pm

Jacksonville National Cemerery
4083 Lannie Road
Jacksonville, FL 32218

Some of us are planning a procession from the funeral home to the cemetery in our jeeps. Please bring your military vehicle if you can.

Fellow FFC members, The Club needs help from our members in support of the Rally February 22-26. Please look at the Volunteer list and see if there is something you can help with. Any help would be appreciated. If you see something you would like to do, send the information to Stan Kinmonth at stantr6@comcast.net

You should read this if you are planning on tagging a MV in Florida, especially a HMMWV. Thanks to club member Kevin Vislocky for finding all this out for us.
