10 November - Central East Region - We are joining Steel Soldiers for the 6th year in the Orlando Veterans Day Parade. This event is broadcast live on Spectrum channel 13 and we also get photos in the Orlando newspaper. Like last year, we will stage at the ACE CAFE at 100 W Livingston Street right off I4 in downtown Orlando. We will be escorted to our place of honor in the parade. When the parade is over, you can head home or join us back to the Ace Cafe for a static display. There will be movie stars, live bands and more. It was great last year. Great food at the cafe and a car and motorcycle museum.
There is room for your trailer and tow vehicle. Staging will be from 8:30 to 9:00 am. The parade starts at 10:00. They are trying to get 18-20 vehicles. Let me know if you can attend. FFC contact - Roger Francis rfrancis@cfl.rr.com

11 Nov. 2018. - Sunday - Central East Region - Static Display 10 am to 4 pm. The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall will be in Apopka for the first time ever over the Veteran's Day Weekend at Kit Land Nelson Park located at 35 South Park Ave, Apopka 32703, and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Apopka. The Wall will be available for viewing 24 hrs/day from 6 pm Wed, 11/7 -8 pm Sun., 11/11. In addition to the display of military vehicles will be helicopters, a replica submarine, and an American Flag Honor Walk with over 100 flags. During the static display, the VFW will conduct a service honoring all Veterans at 11 am on Sun., 11/11, and will include a military fly over. The Wall, a 3/5 scale of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, DC, stands 6 ft tall at the center and covers over 300 ft, end to end. This is a very big deal for the town of Apopka and Central Florida. This is the first time the wall has come to Apopka and it is over the Veterans Day Weekend so please show your support and honor our Military at the event. Let me know if you can be there so they know how much space to save for us.

15 Dec - at 1pm - Parade is along Main Street Safety Harbor. Lineup area Bayshore Blvd, we are usually placed in the Marina but will not know for sure until that week of the parade. Meet at the Keller House, 220 12th Ave South, Safety Harbor at 12 noon and we will convey to the lineup area at 12:15 pm. Party at the Keller house after the parade.
